It was held in Village Council chambers.

(Partial Summary/ Personal Observation(s)://

Dais:  Kinsey-Mumphrey; Various other Village Council Members

The REAL Media: Joseph (Janusiewicz) (“Jay”) Janus, Jr.; http://www.jjanusjr.wordpress.com; Link: “…Hamilton County, Ohio, Hark…;” ‘Crip Citizen Journalist/ Web Blogger

Visitor(s): Approximately, 23, plus, citizenry

(Note:

The Village of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, had a handicapped user friendly environment and parking spaces for this free, public, open-to-all event.

They had microphones and speakers working for the Village Mayor, Village Council members present, as well as for the Guest Speaker, Steve Chabot.

They had two sworn law enforcement present, inside, on site, from The Hamilton County, Ohio, Sheriff’s Department, Cincinnati, Ohio–Lincoln Heights, Ohio, for a total of, some, approximately, 23 citizenry.

Whom was out patrolling this village a this time?

Hmmm???

Access and exiting from The Village of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, via exits from the proximate Interstate Route Highway 75, was extremely comprised and challenging to any attendee as at least two of their former exit ramps were closed off due to ongoing years long construction related issues proximate this village.

A “complimentary” “comfort “beverage, to wit: bottled water, was made available to all that attended this public event.

As of this date and time, it is unknown if if was paid for by the taxpayers of The Village of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, or that of The United States of America?)

Ruby Kinsey-Mumphrey, Village Mayor, welcomed all, and introduced a few of the Village Council members in attendance.

She commenced to share with all some issues relative to The Village of Lincoln Heights, Ohio:

Habitat for Humanity will be returning in 2019, for the first time in ten years.

They will be building six houses on Jackson Street, Lincoln Heights, Ohio.

We have some partnerships with: Lincoln Heights, Ohio, CDC; Saint Monica Recreation Center, We Thrive; The Lincoln Heights, Ohio, Health Care Coalition

We are resilient.

She then introduced Steve Chabot, Congressman, whom advised all that he would be here for about an hour, that he would say a few words, and then take questions.

Legend:

c=Chabot                                      s=Spectator)

c: I just came back from a Town Hall in Harlan Township, in Warren County, Ohio.

I represent The First Congressional District in Ohio.

The includes all of Warren County, Ohio, the majority of The City of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a portion of Hamilton County, Ohio.

This is my third Town Hall meeting in 2019.

I have been all over the place.

I have done telephonic town hall meetings in the past.

People can come from anywhere to these.

I want to know, how can we be of help?

I would now like to do some staff introductions:  Roz; Emily; Joe; Randy.

Delores Lindsey.

She is a legend in Lincoln Heights, Ohio.

She and they brought The (New) Health Center to my attention.

Some updates…

This is considered a District Work Period this week.

I recently had two local high school groups visit my office in Washington, District of Columbia.

One was from Indian Hill, Ohio, High School, and the other one was from Winton Hills, Ohio, High School.

Part of our government was shut down for a while over disagreements.

Most recent government shut down; Last time shutdown happened,  about one quarter of our government was shut down. Many did not agree with that.

Federal employees should be getting their back pay over that shutdown.

I am not certain about federal government contractors?

Our government is doing pretty well.

There is still those that need our help.

We call that–constituent services.

In The United States House of Representatives there are about 18 committees.

When the Republicans had the majority control of The House, the Republicans chaired each committee.

Now that the Democrats have the majority control of The House, the Democrats chair the committees.

When you are a committee member, in the minority party, you are referred to as a Minority Member.

I am a Minority Member of The Small Business Committee.

I also, sit on two other committees–Judiciary and Foreign Affairs.

Whenever there is any talk of Impeachment, this would involve The Judiciary Committee.

I am glad that you are here.

I will be here for about an hour.

When I am done talking, I will open it up for questions.

Raise your hand if you have any questions for me?

s:  Take a look around here and you at our walls.

It is all about economic development.

We are looking for funds and wish to move along.

(Note;

Each of the four interior walls are posted with renderings of various potential economic development projects that may be or shall be possible within this village)

c:  We need to sit down, possibly at my District of Columbia office, with the new plans, or here at this location.

I am willing to assist and try and set up a meeting.

Mayor: The VIllage of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, has been approved and is an “Opportunity Zone.”

If you have an economically challenged zone, they encourage the private sector to set up business in that area.

When that is done, these businesses will pay less taxes.

With everyone working together, it should and must be successful.

s.: What about the gun range? The police use it for practice.

c.: Where is that?

That sounds like a local issue.

s.: It is in Evendale, Ohio.

c.: It sounds like the sheriff would have jurisdiction there.

s.: It sounds like Little Baghdad over there.

We have children.

What type of example does that set for them?

Our children are becoming immune to all of this.

c.: I shall try and facilitate something.

s.: What about that new gasoline tax our new governor is proposing?

c.: I just heard about this one for the first time, what..about this…this morning…what is it..18 cents more per gallon?

s.: What about the Brent Spence Bridge?

c.: Well two states are involved there.

We have a new governor, here, now in Ohio.

We have a relatively new governor, here, in Kentucky now.

“The Fast Act” was part of the last Transportation Bill.

This has put in a pot of money for projects such as these, which is one of a Project of National Significance.

However, this requires the local governments to contribute a significant amount of money.

Local folks must pay for a portion of it.

A lot of people use it.

Kentucky is against tolls.

We got a new governor.

I do not know how it will all pan out.

Hmm..let me see, let me do a poll..by a show of hands, now:

How many of you are in favor of paying a toll to improve the Brent Spence Bridge?

9 hands go up.

How many of you are not in favor of paying a toll to improve the Brent Spence Bridge?

11 hands go up.

Hmmm..we are sort of split on this issue.

c.: Could people pay a “flat rate” to use it?

That would be a good thing to think about.

s.”Why not have it so that the local people would not have to pay as much?

c.; There has been some court cases on that one.

Everyone would have to pay the same amount if there is a toll.

Think of the back up of, say, on a Friday nite, if we each had to pay a toll to use the Brent Spence bridge?

Maybe an E-Z Pay-like system?

Most of what I have heard is tolls on the Brent Spence Bridge.

s.:  What are the percentages on The Habitat for Humanity homes (in Lincoln Heights, Ohio)?

s.: We have not had any for 10 years.

s.: What about the percentages for the homes with The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (in Lincoln Heights, Ohio)?

s.: (No response).

s.: There is a disparity in the new tax law.

I worked for the I. R. S.

I am now retired from the I. R. S.

It is a bunch of crap.

c.: If your taxes are lower, that is why you are not seeing such a large refund?

I voted for it.

Most people are paying less in taxes now.

The middle class people are hurting.

Mayor: Are there any plans for (…health care…) choice?

What about no mandate?

c.: There is no mandate.

The mandate has been taken away.

Those that are up to 26 years of age and still living at home with their parents, can stay on their parents’ plan.

Pre-existing conditions are now covered and may stay.

What we have now is “Obamacare.”

We Republicans tried to repeal ” Obamacare.”

John McCain, over in the Senate, stopped that with his famous “thumbs down.”

To get any improvements, we must have bi-partisan support.

We do not have that at this point in time.

Currently, rather than have a solution, each party blames the other party.

s.: Your party is isolating itself.

Why should we pay the same amount on gas tax?

I think we should have a “car tax.”

I am a LBGT person.

The shortages of pharmaceuticals are impacting peoples lives.

c.: A tax on a car, a “car tax,” would be very challenging.

About half of the public pays no federal income tax.

The Republican Party needs to reach out more.

We should not take minorities for granite.

A large portion of my district is minority.

We can always do better.

Hate crimes….we should make it with a tougher penalty.

A motive for a hate crime should not matter.

Any harm done to a person in a hate crime should be prosecuted,, regardless of motive.

Hurricane resources; Funding; More.

Bills are loaded up with other things.

Those other things are sometimes why I vote against a spending bill for a specific cause or issue?

s.: What about this Emergency Declaration?

c.:  I wish he (President Donald J. Trump) did not do that.

We are close to the people.

Years ago, Congress passed a law about this…if it is a National Security matter.

He (President Donald J. Trump) wanted 5.7 billion; He got 1.3 billion.

I think legal immigration is good for our country.

s.: He (President Donald J. Trump)  is using it (The Emergency Declaration) to circumvent.

c.: This could be a precedent for all future presidents.

Mayor: Economic Development…

How can you help us to secure funding and secure new businesses?

c.: I am well positioned to help you on this.

I am the lead  Republican person on The Small Business Administration committee.

This is where we make loans for small businesses.

There are loans out there for minority owned, small businesses.

Let us sit down on this issue and one.

s.: (Chabot staffer) We shall take one more question and then we shall wrap this all up by 07:00 p. m.

s.: Why is it taking so long to impeach the most lying President President Donald J. Trump) ?

c.: I wish to wait and see what comes out in The Mueller Report.

I think it is time to wrap it (The Mueller Report) up.

Years ago we had The Starr Report on The Clinton presidency.

I wish to reserve my judgment until The Mueller Report comes out.

(Informal Adjournment):

Mayor: I would like to thank Congressman Chabot for coming here and having a Town Hall with us tonight.

I hope he will have another one here, again, in the future.

I would like to thank all of you for coming out here tonight for our Town Hall here.

Good night.

Adjournment:  07:00 p. m.
